10-12 April 2013 – Presentation of the Franco-Saudi Business Forum<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Hollande to Saudi businessmen: \u201cThere are investment opportunities in France and you are welcome there\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the initiative of Dr. Taufiq Bin Fozan Al Rabiah, Saudi Minister of Trade and Industry, and Mrs. Nicole Bricq, French Minister of Foreign Trade, Medef international organized on April 11 and 12, 2013, at L’H\u00f4tel Intercontinental in Paris \u2013 the first Franco-Saudi Business Forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A highly symbolic meeting both by the number and rank of personalities who took part in this meeting and by the interest it aroused among economic players, French and Saudi, who all wanted to bring the historic partnership sealed back to life in Paris in 1967 between French President Charles de Gaulle and King Fay\u00e7al Ben Saoud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trois ministres fran\u00e7ais, M. Pierre Moscovici, M. Arnaud Montebourg, Mme Nicole Bricq, et leurs homologues saoudiens, dont le Dr Tawfig Al Rabiah, ministre du Commerce et de l'Industrie, ont pris part aux diff\u00e9rentes tables rondes pour affirmer leur conviction dans le besoin de redynamiser le partenariat qui lie les deux pays et d'exprimer leur volont\u00e9 de d\u00e9velopper les relations entre la France et l'Arabie Saoudite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ouvrant les travaux de cette rencontre, M. Jean Burelle, membre du Comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif du Medef, et M. Mohamed Ben Laden, pr\u00e9sident du Conseil d'affaires franco-saoudien, ont tour \u00e0 tour soulign\u00e9 le potentiel \u00e9conomique et politique de l'Arabie saoudite et de ses principaux r\u00f4le dans la stabilit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9gion. M. Burelle a soulign\u00e9 l'importance de cette rencontre qui constitue "une formidable opportunit\u00e9 pour les entreprises fran\u00e7aises et saoudiennes d'\u00e9changer afin de conna\u00eetre et d'identifier les diff\u00e9rents secteurs de l'\u00e9conomie qui constituent les vecteurs de croissance et de d\u00e9veloppement des deux pays". , alors que M. Ben Laden a plut\u00f4t insist\u00e9 sur les changements profonds op\u00e9r\u00e9s dans le Royaume sous l'impulsion de Sa Majest\u00e9 le Roi Abdallah Bin Abdel Aziz. Il a notamment rappel\u00e9 que le royaume saoudien, qui entend \u00ab s'int\u00e9grer pleinement \u00e0 l'\u00e9conomie mondiale \u00bb, dispose d'un territoire qui fait cinq fois la taille de la France et d'une population de 28 millions d'habitants, dont les deux tiers ont moins de 30 ans. Et d'ajouter, \u00ab c'est le premier producteur et exportateur mondial de p\u00e9trole, sa dette ne repr\u00e9sente que 4% de son PIB, alors que son exc\u00e9dent budg\u00e9taire est d'environ 15% \u00bb. Cl\u00f4turant son discours sur une note d'humour, M. Ben Laden a indiqu\u00e9 que l'\u00e9crivain qui revendiquait l'id\u00e9e que les trois types d'hommes accomplis cr\u00e9\u00e9s par l'Arabie saoudite \u00e9taient "le guerrier, le po\u00e8te et le proph\u00e8te" avait manifestement oubli\u00e9 de mentionner "le homme d'affaire".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plusieurs tables rondes ont rythm\u00e9 les deux jours de ce forum, cr\u00e9ant autant d'occasions d'aborder les grands enjeux relatifs \u00e0 la diversification de l'\u00e9conomie saoudienne, au d\u00e9veloppement durable, aux programmes d'investissement dans les secteurs de l'\u00e9nergie et du p\u00e9trole, de l'agriculture et de l'agroalimentaire, de la sant\u00e9, des transports et bien s\u00fbr le d\u00e9veloppement du capital humain et les moyens consid\u00e9rables qui sont aujourd'hui d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s dans le domaine de l'\u00e9ducation, de l'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur et de la formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des hommes politiques, des experts, des chefs d'entreprise et des acteurs \u00e9conomiques majeurs ont \u00e0 chaque fois pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 leurs analyses, anim\u00e9 des d\u00e9bats, et r\u00e9pondu \u00e0 des questions \u00e0 la fois pertinentes et pratiques, mais qui avaient toutes le m\u00eame objectif, le m\u00eame but et le m\u00eame but, \u00e0 savoir : s'informer, identifier, d\u00e9terminer un domaine ou un secteur d'activit\u00e9 pour ensuite cibler le partenaire id\u00e9al pour s'implanter et se d\u00e9velopper sur un nouveau march\u00e9 \u00e0 fort potentiel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A ces diff\u00e9rentes tables rondes, on note la forte participation de plusieurs repr\u00e9sentants et chefs de grandes entreprises fran\u00e7aises et saoudiennes. C'est notamment le cas, c\u00f4t\u00e9 saoudien, de M. Abdullatif Al-Othman, gouverneur de la Saudi Investment Authority (SAGIA), du Dr Hasim Yamani, pr\u00e9sident de KA-CARE, de M. Ali Al Gofais, responsable de la formation \u00e0 du minist\u00e8re de l'\u00c9ducation, M. Saud Bin Thunain, pr\u00e9sident de la Commission royale de Jubeil et Yanbu, M. Fahad Abdallah Al-Mubarak, M. Khalid Al-Bauainain, vice-pr\u00e9sident de l'ARAMCO. C\u00f4t\u00e9 fran\u00e7ais, on note la pr\u00e9sence de M. de Margerie, Pr\u00e9sident de Total, M.
